The moment before everything changed, a family in a kibbutz, unaware of the wrath about to unfold.
Painted in the aftermath of October 7th, this work marked the beginning of the Foreshortened Hand series. It began with grief; a gray, desolate scene of destruction and loss, until a small patch of color emerged: a family, illuminated by light. That fragment became the heart of the painting.
In revisiting them, I found the fragile urgency of life, the instant before the world shifts, when innocence still lingers in the air.
