Chagall has always been one of my favorite painters, and the fact that he was Jewish makes his work feel even more personal to me. When reflecting on the pillars of Judaism, I felt inclined to paint the way we celebrate and gather.
Passover has always been one of my favorite holidays. It feels like a musical, filled with story and spectacle: plagues, songs, roles for all, money, and laughter at the table. This painting became an expression of that joy, full of whimsy and life.
Through Judaism, I have never felt the weight of fear that some religions impose. Instead, I have always felt lightness, connection, and the security of tradition. In this piece, I celebrate that sense of belonging, where family and faith meet in joy.
